The Summer Concert Series Begins

We want more!!! Just in from opening night of the Matthews Summer Concert & Movie Series at the newly remodeled Stumptown Park (absolutely beautiful). Tonight's band was the GT All-Stars from Atlanta, GA, and they were fantastic! This was one band (and one crowd) that didn't let a little rain get them down. The band opened with a funky instrumental, with solos and band introductions. The male and female singers (one of each) took the stage and never left. They played for a solid 2 and a half… Continue

What's the hardest thing you've ever done?

As many of you may know, I sing. If you didn't know it before, you can check out the picture entitled, "My Passion." My brother tells me I was singing before I could actually speak! How that's possible, I'm not really sure . . . Anyway, I do come from a musical family. My mother sang with a "Big Band" and my dad played guitar, piano, and stand-up bass. My mother's mother played piano also. I have several aunts, uncles, and cousins who played guitar and piano, and sang, and some who still do. Fun… Continue

Matthews Night Out -- Steve Brogan

My sons and I went to see Steve Brogan tonight. Since we are all fans of Jeff Dunham, we were really looking forward to seeing Steve. We were certainly not disappointed! He was very entertaining and funny. I was pleasantly surprised that my oldest (almost 19) laughed aloud as much as he did, though he did try to stifle it a few times. We especially enjoyed Scott's enthusiastic rendition of "I'm a Little Teapot." I think you have quite a future, Scott! It's so exciting to see people come out to… Continue

I thought they were fantastic. I blogged about it on my page here. Hopefully, others will read it and attend the remaining events. I love to see so many people in the park!

Good to see you, too! That was a great concert, wasn't it? Really good choice to start the season.

Hey, Nancy! I think I remember that you were interested in reading. I just finished a FABULOUS book. All I wanted to do was loll on the sofa and read for two days until I finished. It is called My Sister's Keeper. If I remember correctly, the author's name is Jodi Picoult. If you read it, let me know what you think about it.

Hi Nancy,

I'll send a response this way and to your Town Council address too. Maybe I am doing this wrong!

Thanks,
Alesa
