How to use iMatthews.com
WOW! We have seen a terrific response to the website in just a few short days. We are getting some great ideas and I thought I would share a few as well as encourage you to post your own ideas on how to use iMatthews.com to the benefit of the community:
1) The calendar is being received very well. Take advantage of Parker Web to help you get this calendar system up and running on your site. See more here
2) What a great place to run a coupon for your business! Not only can you do a blog post containing your coupon, you can come back and turn it off at any time. The best thing is - it doesn't cost you anything to post it to the community (just keep it in the blog on your profile page - not the forums).
3) We have already seen several groups sign up. What a great place to coordinate and communicate within your group. Whether its knitting or town council, there is a group for you.
4) I've had several questions concerned about being spammed or a profile receiving negative comments. First - you can always delete comments. Second, you can actually change the privacy settings under "My Settings" to disable or force a review of comments prior to them going live (this is for blogs) and/or you can select the "edit" button in the upper right corner of the comments box on your personal profile page and select to approve comments before they are published.

The site membership doubled yesterday. We have added a few new calendars including Parks & Rec and the Carolinas Natural Health Center. We have begun highlighting forum and blog postings on the front page - go to the forum page or individual profiles to see postings. We have launched the "Real Community - No Anonymity" campaign and policy. We have added this block which will be the "article of the day" space. Any more ideas? Do you have a neighborhood group? iMatthews is a good place to setup individual neighborhoods for coordinating block parties, community watches and other such meetings.

Calendar function fixed. I think the weather call was causing it to break. I moved the weather out to AccuWeather.com versus inside of the Google calendar and it started working again.
