This is where she has been dropped off two days a week since nearly the first day of school when my wife met with the afternoon bus driver and they agreed to this drop off location. Fortunately, my wife was drivin…

My 6-year-old, Olivia "Livvie" Parker, has been introduced to fund raising for her school and has enthusiastically embraced the sales role. She's even had her first rejections and I've helped her understand the numbers game sales can be. "Not everyone wants to buy that day," I say, "but so…

Do you remember those family reunions that you went as a kid? I remember every few years going and finding the place full of people who were happy to see me but I really didn't know who most of them were. That was how tonight felt.
We were on display, my fellow members and I, and our proud sponsor parents ushered us about and made the proper introductions to the friends and dignitaries in attendance. Speeches were given. Pins awarded. Tears shed. Pictures taken. Laughs shared. It was fellowship…

A message to all members of iMatthews.com - Matthews NC
It seems like the world went Twitter this past week. Ashton Kutcher and CNN got into a race to see who could get to 1 Million followers first and Oprah twittered on her show. iMatthews is on the bandwagon - we launched our Twitter account a couple of weeks ago and already have 50 followers.
Not sure what Twitter is? I've personally been on Twitter since July 2008 after Mark Harrison (Opus Communications - Matthews) gave me grief for not b…

I had coffee yesterday with the new owner of the Matthews Mint Hill magazine, Paula McDonald. Paula purchased the magazine this past January and moved here from New Port Ritchie, Florida, specifically as a result of buying the magazine. In fact, Matthews won out over a small town in New Mexico!
