south mountain state park is good, but requires a bit of a drive...but has a big waterfall and really big communal campsites areas. Some of the closer ones would be nice too though.

Since we're allowed to take the boys camping as a den (or at least at levels less than the entire pack), I'd like to work on a number of smaller, webelo-only camping events. We can work on achievements, camping skills, etc.or just have a nice, easy campout. I think that camping locations close to town - McDowell Park, Copperhead Island, Lake Norman parks might be good starting locations.

Bruce - I want to thank you for the invite to join in on iMatthews and Scouting in Matthews forum! As far as camping locations for Webelo I scouts, I have had nothing but GREAT reviews from my scouts and families on the Supertrip campsite near Ashboro. Are you looking for a "Themed" campout or trying to accomplish certain acheivements?
