It never ceases to amaze me how the intention separation of church and state is so badly distorted by the applications towhich we apply it. /shrug

Hi Mary,
Regarding the Christian band in Stumptown Park, I appreciate your input. If you're thinking along the lines of the Concerts in the Park series, a Christian band cannot play during that time because Stumptown is a town-owned park and the town cannot endorse a religious affiliation (the whole separation of church and state thing). If a Christian band plays at Stumptown Park (which they have on many occasions), it is because it is a private event.

Also, the bands that are booked for the Summer Concert Series are booked through a professional agency. The booking usually takes place in February.

hey,
i know this christian band that could play for stumptown one night.
their name is mono/stereo.
they are the band for central church of god and they do gigs all the time.
they can find an opening band if you will get them.
i would really like to see some young people up on stage playing their heart out, i think it makes the town look more family oriented.
their myspace is www.myspace.com/monostereonc
my name is mary debaggis, you can contact me ion my cell phone at 609-510-7983.
please give them a chance,
thank you.

Hey Darryl and Jay... Thanks for the kudos. Greg and I have a ball whenever we play. We try very hard to deliver quality music to our listeners... and we always enjoy ourselves. I think that spills over to whomever is around.

As for 'Copenhagen'... and 'Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road'... Greg always cringes when I toss those (and a few other fun tunes) into the mix! We always make sure our playlist is venue and age appropriate. Again... It's as much about having fun as anything else.

Thanks again for the positive feedback. It's always welcome.

Greg Baker and I make up GB and ME.
We play a wide range of music genres... Americana, Country, Caribbean, Folk, and some soft rock... From Jimmy Buffett to Merle Haggard... from REO Speedwagon to Bob Seger... Willie Nelson and Kris Kristopherson to John Prine... and just about anyone in between.

We have played ArtFest, Matthews Alive, The Bean House, The Neighborhood Theater and The Evening Muse in NODA, Kaldi's Koffee, Puckett's Farm Supply, Dilworth Coffee, Trahan's, Matthew's Chamber Taste and Trade, Earth Day Celebration, Festival in the Park... and many private parties.

Our philosophy is to have fun with our music and make sure that our listeners have just as much fun!

GB and ME
