Since moving our office above Kristophers earlier this month, I have rediscovered how much I used to enjoy going there when I first moved to Matthews in 2002. What is your favorite restaurant and why?

Do you have any idea what their hours are? Seems like they're closed every time I drive by.

Predicting the future: I plan to LOVE the barbecue dinner at the Matthews Farmers Market tomorrow night! Can't beat locally grown!

My husband and I loved Dearstynes and miss it dearly! The food was impeccable, the service was unmatched and the price was fair.

We loved Dearstynes, too! It was too bad when they left downtown Matthews, and they didn't last long in Indian Trail. I always hate to see someone's dream die.

Kristopher's is great... Best onion rings in town. I normally get the appetizer sampler with chicken fingers, onion rings, and potato skins. I love that special sauce too. I also really like Mario's Pizza across from the Siskey YMCA.

Panera Bread has a great variety of healthy, tasty choices. I'm not a big breakfast person, but I think their spinach and bacon souffle is delicious! If you are having a tough morning... It will make your day. I like to go there for lunch and breakfast on the weekends. Their pastries are really good, and I love buying the bread to use for my dinners at home. The cinnamon raisin bread is great for French toast. Kids love it.

I've gone to every restaurant in downtown Matthews many times, and the new Carolina BBQ is really good. Quick service and love the mango topping for the burgers. They are now open for dinner. Sante is the best if you have extra time. We need more restaurants though-how about a Dean & DeLuca? Wouldn't that be fantastic?

I have been going to Picadeli since I moved here in 1995. The food is great. The service makes me feel at home. George ALWAYS makes sure that we are happy with our meal. Just a quick note, it is smoke free during lunch hours.
